MEDIAN PRICES OF HOMES IN CA. HAVE BEEN INCREASING THROUGHOUT THE SPAN OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, WITH SANTA CLARA COUNTY LEADING THE WAY

Average month-to-month percent change in the median price of homes in all of California from Jan. 2020-Dec. 21:

2018: -2.46%

2019: -3.41%

2020: -0.89%

2021: +0.82%

Since the first confirmed case of COVID-19 in the United States in January 2020, the median price of homes in California has increased. The percent change accounts for the range of median prices every month since then and is averaged out to reflect this overall growth or drop in housing cost. Santa Clara leads this trend with an average of 1.53% increase every month, with Riverside and Humboldt closely following behind. Only six counties experienced a decrease in the average month-to-month home price throughout this time range.
